The value of aesthetic education is being reconsidered in our society today. Of the many Japanese musicians who have achieved success on the global stage, it is said that although most have had some strong association with music at an early age, they all began focused training in their instruments from when they were in high school. This course will be ideal for those with strong motivation to ‘immerse’ themselves in music. With its highly specialized curriculum, the course cultivates both the rich sensibility and advanced skills both of which are required in meeting international expectations. In addition to the compulsory general education courses, broad and versatile training is offered in specialized subjects such as solfege and music theory both of which are essential to gain entrance to musical universities. Furthermore, our specialized faculty offer man-to-man instruction in piano, vocals, percussion, and wind instruments among others. With the teaching environment promoting full cultivation of student talents, graduates from the course have been continuously accepted to the Tokyo University of the Arts for the last 10 years. Our wind orchestra , in particular has twice won the Vienna Award, and the educational level of the department is reputed worldwide.
